Ramnath Goenka Awards 2016: Ramnath Goenka (1904–1991) was an Indian newspaper publisher. He launched The Indian Express and created the Indian Express Group with various English and regional language publications. As part of centenary year celebrations of its founder, Ramnath Goenka, The Express Group instituted the Ramnath Goenka Awards to celebrate excellence in journalism, recognize the courage and commitment and showcase outstanding contributions and individuals every year. This is the most prestigious annual event in the Indian media calendar. Foreign Correspondent Covering India  Print – Victor John Mallet (Financial Times) Print/Digital – The prize money is Rs.  1,00,000/- This award will go to foreign correspondents in print media for coverage that portrays India to a foreign audience most accurately & sensitively.
Commentary & Interpretative Writing  Anna MM Vetticad (BLink), Pramit Bhattacharya (Mint) The prize money is Rs.  1,00,000/- This award will go to a print journalist/commentator, whose work stands out for clarity, depth, analysis, style and forcefulness of idea/opinion expressed.
