Puneeth Rajkumar is a humble biryani-maker, hence the analogy. It is when he reconnects with his past that the film’s title is justified. His illustrious family needs him and he responds like the prodigal son.
Rajeevappa (Ambareesh) and his family live in Mandya. Surya (Puneeth), speaking with a Hubballi accent, is a biryani seller there; Srinivas Murthy is his father.

Cable Babu (Ravishankar) comes across as a common criminal. The character lacks the menace it needs when taking on both the Rebel Star and the Power Star.

His plans to get the upper hand is an underwhelming experience with him getting easily beaten up in fight after fight. A better and bigger exploration of the father-son relationship and their past story could have helped beef up the story.
