Fast and Furious 8 Movie Total Budget: $250 million

Fast and Furious 8 First Weekend Screens:

Fate of the Furious will be on 20K locations in 63 foreign territories including China but sans Japan (which bows on April 28), and in U.S./Canada, the film will be the widest pre-summer release ever at an estimated 4,304 venues. The Fate of the Furious is releasing only in 2K projectors and will get 1600-1700 screens in India.

The Fate of the Furious Box Office Prediction:

Analysts are forecasting a $100M-$110M over three days in U.S./Canada with previews kicking off Thursday at 7 PM. Analysts predict that the film should top $380 million and could even blow past the $400 million mark globally.

The film is estimated to clock in over $100 million over the weekend. The film released in US on Wednesday and since then has made around $ 50 million.

Variety reports that Fate Of The Furious may be the second highest launch in the series’ history but may find it difficult to beat the earnings of its predecessor Fast 7, which opened to nearly $147.2 million. The film’s lifetime collection stands at $ 1.5 billion worldwide. Fast 7 released two years after the death of actor Paul Walker.

Taran Adarsh revealed the figures tweeting, “#Furious8 takes a flying start, despite previews starting from 3.30 pm onwards. Wed8.50 cr [Gross BO]. India biz. #TheFateOfTheFurious.”

1st Day Collection in India:

According to the trade experts, The Fate of the Furious has ended with a grand total of Rs. 14.50 Cr at the domestic market.

In China:

The film is setting fire at the China box office as it has touched $30 million by Friday afternoon.

As per a report in Variety, though the official figures are not out yet, the movie took in an estimated $100.2 million in the US over the weekend, and $135 million in China itself, one of the best markets for such blockbusters.

First Weekend Collections:

An excited Taran Adarsh exulted on Twitter saying, “While we rejoice over ₹ 100 cr, ₹ 200 cr, ₹ 300 cr, #Furious8 collects $ 188.85 million in its opng wknd in China. Truly EARTH-SHATTERING!”

However, The Fate of the Furious could not break the records of Furious 7’s domestic record of $147.2 million box office opening. In India, it had an amazing run collecting Rs 38 crores in just 3 days, including paid previews.

Fast and Furious 8 has also become the highest opening weekend opener with a collection of $532 million worldwide which amounts to approximately Rs 3400 crore. Of its total revenue, the film collected $100.2 million in the US and a $432.2 million in the overseas market.

First 10 Days Collections:

The Vin Diesel – Dwayne Johnson starrer’s worldwide box office collection stands at over $900 million. The film owes its international success primarily to China.

The film grossed over $163.4 million in the dragon country taking its international box office tally to $744.8 million, according to Box Office Mojo.

The domestic collections dropped by 61 percent in the second weekend. F8 earned a total of $38.6 million in its second weekend at domestic box office, the website reported.
