GATE Results: Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering 2018 (GATE 2018) is a national level entrance exam for admission to various PG degree courses in IITs, IISc, NITs, and other reputed institutions. Every year, GATE is organized by the seven zonal IITs and an IISc on the rotational basis. This year, GATE exam is conducted by IIT, Guwahati. GATE result 2018 could be announced on March 17 for all 23 papers. How to Check GATE Result 2018

Steps to Check GATE Results 2018:

  1. Visit the official website or from the direct link provided below.
  2. The homepage will be displayed.
  3. Click on GATE Result 2018 Link
  4. Enter your credentials (Roll Number and Date of Birth).
  5. Click on submit button.
  6. The results will display on the screen.
  7. Check the results.
  8. Download / Take a printout for further reference.

GATE 2018 Cut Off Marks

GATE Cut off marks will decide the candidate’s eligibility for admission to IITs and IISc. It is the factor which decides whether candidates is qualified in the exam or not. GATE 2018 cut off marks varies stream-wise and category-wise. The cut-off marks for reserved category candidates are primarily low than the unreserved category candidates.

GATE 2018 cut-offs are expected to be close to last year cut-offs.

GATE 2018 Score Card Download

The qualified candidates are provided with a GATE scorecard which has the validity of three years from the date of announcement of result. GATE 2018 score card reflects the candidate’s performance in entrance test. The facility to download the scorecard will be available from 20th March to 31st May 2018.

From the raw score, and normalized score, GATE score is calculated using following formulae.

Here, for the normalized score of jth candidates in ith session for multi-session papers,

  • Actual marks of the jth candidates in ith session is Mij.
  • Average marks of the top 0.1% of the candidates considering all sessions is Mgt .
  • Sum of mean and standard deviation marks of the candidates in the paper considering all sessions is Mgq .
  • Average marks of the top 0.1% of the candidates in the ith session is Mti .
  • Sum of the mean marks and standard deviation of the ith session is Miq .

Here, for GATE score for all papers,

  • Marks of the candidate (actual marks for single session papers and normalized marks for multi-session papers) is M.
  • Qualifying marks for general category candidate in the paper is Mq
  • Mean of marks of top 0.1% or top 10 (whichever is larger) of the candidates who appeared in the paper (in case of multi-session papers including all sessions) is Mt
  • Sq is 350, is the score of Mq
  • St is 900, is the score of Mt.

GATE 2018 Counselling

No common GATE 2018 counselling will be conducted by IITS for providing admission to PG courses. Students have to apply individually to the IITs when the admission notification will be released. NITs organizes the Centralized Counselling for M.Tech. / M.Arch./ M.Plan. Admissions (CCMT). It is the common counselling conducted by NITs every year. Counselling is purely based on GATE 2018 scores.
