Guru Gobind Singh Birthday 2017: The government will celebrate 350th birth anniversary of Sikh Guru Gobind Singh across the country and has earmarked Rs 100 crore for the events. The main celebration is going to held on Patna, India on January 5, 2017, and it will be titled as 350th Prakash Parv (also Prakash Utsav). At the date of this anniversary, a number of events are scheduled to be organized on the occasion in Patna marking a grand celebration in their history. Three mega tent cities — one in Patna’s Gandhi Maidan and the other two at Kangan Ghat & Patna Old bypass — have been erected to accommodate the huge crowd. 10,000 volunteers have landed in Patna to facilitate the distribution of food at these locations. 200 CCTV cameras will be installed to monitor the situation.

More than 300 special buses and 10 special trains would carry devotees to Patna from Punjab and elsewhere.

The government has also facilitated medical camps, vehicles related camps, camps for pure drinking waters have been organized, as well as Special Helping Centres where all type of information can be helped with.

The Bihar government has also facilitated nearly 200 vehicles (buses and e-rickshaws) to commute Sikh devotees from airports, railway stations, Gurdwaras etc.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal and a large number of Sikh dignitaries from India and abroad will participate.
