In 2020, NTA is conducting the JEE Main exam for three papers. Paper 1 is divided into three sections- Chemistry, Physics, and Maths. Candidates are asked to prepare for the coursework of their classes 11th and 12th. The syllabus for the JEE Main 2020 is released by the National Testing Agency (NTA).
The JEE Main will now be held twice a year. In the year 2020, there will also be two sessions for this exam which will be in January and April. This year the exam will be conducted in the online mode of three papers. Paper 1 will comprise Physics, Maths, and Chemistry. Paper 2 will comprise Maths, Aptitude, and Drawing and finally the Paper 3 will be having maths, aptitude tests, and planning based questions.
In Paper-1, 20 questions from each section will be MCQs and the remaining 5 questions will be numerical answer based questions. There is no negative marking for numerical answer based questions.
JEE Main syllabus for Paper 1
JEE Main Mathematics 2020 Syllabus
The JEE Main for the Maths syllabus will consist of 25 questions where the candidate will be provided with +4 marks for every correct answer and -1 will be deducted for every incorrect one.
After analyzing previous year question papers there are certain parts in the course where the candidate must mainly focus on. In this section the chapters like the sequence and series, straight lines, 3D, Determinant. These are the areas where the questions mainly come from.
JEE Main Physics 2020 Syllabus
In this section, there are certain areas that the candidates must mainly focus on to complete the syllabus as per the exam point of view. This analysis is made on the basis of the previous year’s question papers.
The chapters for the exam the candidates require to look for are the Kinematics, Optics, Laws of Motion, Rotational Motion, Gravitation, Properties of solids, and liquids, etc.
According to last year’s analysis the topics like the current electricity, alternating current, rotational dynamics, Modern physics, etc; were some of the highest weightage carrying topics.
JEE Main Chemistry 2020 Syllabus
The entire syllabus for this section mainly revolves around these three areas: Physical Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, and Inorganic Chemistry.
In the question paper, the questions are both numerical based and theoretical based. The highest weightage carrying topics as per 2019 paper analysis are Chemical Bonding in Organic Chemistry, Halogen Derivative in Organic Chemistry and Ionic equilibrium.
This article is completely about the detailed syllabus and the areas which the candidates mainly need to focus on. Also, the highest weightage sections are provided after analyzing the previous year’s questions papers. Preparing for these national level entrance exams requires the candidate to have a complete picture of the syllabus with the distribution of marks and the number of questions that are asked from each topic.
