THINGVELLIR LAKE, Iceland: Video showing divers swimming in crystal clear waters in an Icelandic lake has gone viral. Hashem al-Ghaili posted the video collage Dec. 12 and it’s since been viewed nearly 25 million times.

What makes the video so remarkable is that the water is along the Mid-Atlantic Ridge, where the continental drift occurs. Divers who swim there can put their hand on both of the plates at the same time.

Silfra fissure, the only place where one can dive or snorkel directly in the crack between the North American and Eurasian continental plates. These two continents are drifting apart by 2cm each year.
The site is located in Iceland’s Thingvellir Lake and is known as one of the best dive sites in the world.
