SSC CGL Recruitment: Best Posts and Salaries

The Combined Graduate Level (CGL) Exam is conducted by Staff Selection Commission (SSC) to appoint candidates in different category posts at various Government Ministries, departments, and offices. This exam has a four-tier system. The tier I and tier II are computer-based, whereas, in tier III and IV, job applicants have to appear for a descriptive paper and a computer proficiency test or skill test & document verification respectively. Candidates must qualify each phase of the SSC CGL exam to go on to the next one, before being finally selected. 

Candidates are asked to fill the SSC CGL post preferences at the time of filling up the SSC CGL online application form. The minimum age limit defined for SSC CGL is 21 years, and the maximum age limit is 32 years.

Income Tax Inspector is a Group-C post in the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT), which works to collect direct taxes in the country. Income Tax Officer is one of the most popular job offered by SSC CGL, which has a pay scale of Rs.9300 to Rs.34800. Income tax department provides both desk and field jobs depends on the work allotted and the area of posting.

Central Excise Officer

This post falls under Central Board of Excise and Customs(CBEC) is one of the preferable posts in SSC CGL. Central Board of Excise and Customs (CBEC) works for the Department of Revenue under the Ministry of Finance, Government of India with a pay scale of Rs. 9300 – 34800.

External Affairs Assistant

It is an assistant level post in the Ministry of External Affairs. If one is posted as the general assistant, then they have to do Clerical or file related work like planning and examining documents to be signed between the nations with a pay scale of Rs. 9300 – 34800.

Assistant Section Officer

It is a Group – B post in the department of Central Secretariat Service with a pay scale of about Rs. 9300 – 34800. Central Secretariat Service provides as the backbone of the administrative work and also provides the government of India with bureaucrats and other functional staff.

Sub-Inspector in SBI                

The CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation) is a premier investigating agency of India. It is known for investigating several economic crimes, special crimes, cases of corruption, and other high-profile cases. As a sub-inspector in CBI will have a pay scale of Rs. 9300 – 34800.   

SSC CGL Exams are tough to crack and so the preparation must be done in an organised way. As an SSC CGL officer one will be several important duties in several departments hence directly contributing to India’s progress.
