Sunil Narine Banned: Here is a bad news to all cricket fans especially for West Indies Cricket fans i.e. Our favorite spinner Sunil Narine Banned From International Cricket for Illegal Action. The ICC (International Cricket Council) on Sunday (29th November) confirmed that an independent assessment has found the bowling action of West Indies Sunil Narine to be illegal and, as such, the off-spinner has been suspended from bowling in International Cricket with immediate effect. Narine, whose action was also reported during an Indian Premier League game this year, was cleared by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) after giving him a final warning. The 27-year-old is currently No 1 in the ICC one-day and Twenty20 bowling rankings. Narine was reported after the third one-day international against Sri Lanka in Pallekelle earlier this month and ordered to undergo an independent assessment. The independent assessment revealed that all variations of his deliveries exceeded the 15-degree limit.

ICC’s media release stated that “In accordance with Article 6.1 of the regulations, Narine’s international suspension will also be recognised and enforced by all national cricket federations within domestic cricket events played in their own jurisdiction, save that, with the consent of the West Indies Cricket Board, Narine may be able to play in domestic cricket events played under the auspices of the West Indies Cricket Board.”

The test was done on November 17 at ICC’s testing centre in Loughborough University. Narine can apply for re-assessment after modifying his action in accordance with clause 2.4 of the Regulations for the Review of Bowlers Reported with Suspected Illegal Bowling Actions.
