Tamil Nadu HSC (12th) Toppers | Merit List | Pass Percentage

Tamil Nadu Plus Two / 12th Toppers: This year, Around 8 lakh students have written Tamilnadu HSC examination conducted from March 1 to March 19. The Directorate of Government Examinations (DGE) has released the Tamil Nadu 12th Class Results on April 19, 2019. Students can check their TN Plus Two Toppers 2019 details on the board’s official websites — www.dge1.tn.nic.in, tnresults.nic.in. After the declaration of the results, The board will also release the Toppers list of Tamil Nadu HSC Exams.

Tamil Nadu 12th Toppers List 2019 | Merit List

In 2019:

From this year, the education department has decided not to release ranks and toppers name to discourage unhealthy competition among students.

In 2018:

The overall pass percentage is 91.1 per cent. The girls have outperformed boys by registering 94.1 per cent while boys have scored 87.7 per cent. A total of 6754 schools scores 100 per cent results with Virudhnagar tops among districts securing 97 per cent. Erode is at second place with 96.3 per cent.

A total of 1,171 students scored over 1,180 marks out of 1,200 marks

The maximum pass percentage is registered in Physics at 96.2 per cent, 95 per cent in Chemistry, 96.3 per cent in Biology, 96.4 per cent in Maths, 93.9 per cent in Botany, 91.3 per cent in Zoology and in Commerce it is 90.3 per cent while 96.1 per cent in Computer science.

In 2017:

There are a total of 8301 students who scored 100 percent in the Commerce and 3656 students who did the same in Mathematics.

The overall pass percentage this year stood at  92.1 per cent. A total of 8,93,262 students had appeared for the exams held in March this year. One transgender student also cleared the exams.

• Overall Pass Percentage: 92.1 %
• Boys: 4,15,331 (89.3%)
• Girls: 4,77,930 (94.5%)

For the first time, the state also did not announce the list of aggregate toppers, an announcement that came a day ahead of results. However, as per details provided by the directorate of government examinations, a total of 1,171 students scored above 1180 out of 1200

In 2016: 

Last year, A total of 8,26,117 candidates appeared, of which girl students constituted 445829 and 380288 were boys. Other than regular students, 74,647 candidates registered directly as private candidates also appeared for Tamil Nadu board examinations.

TN Plus Two State First:

Aarathi V and Jeshwanth K H of Sri Vidya Mandir Matriculation Higher Secondary School in Krishnagiri and Chatriya Kavin D J of Good Shepherd Matriculation Higher Secondary School in Chennai shared the first rank in the Class 12 Tamil Nadu state board exams 2016 with score 1195 out of 1200.

Tamil Nadu HSC State Second:

Pavithra G of Shree Niketan Matriculation Higher Secondary School in Tiruvallur and Shruti S Good Shepherd Matriculation Higher Secondary in Chennai are the second rank holders with a score of 1194.

Tamilnadu State Third in Class 12 Result:

Samritha K of Vimal Jyothi Convent Matriculation Higher Secondary School at Saravanampatty in Coimbatore, Naveen G of Bharathi Vidya Bhavan in Erode and Nivedita N of New Prince Matriculation Higher Secondary School in Kancheepuram shared the third rank with a score of 1193.

From 2018 the state government will not rank students at the state and district levels in Plus 2 and SSLC exams. The Hindu reported that the ranking system promoted unhealthy competition among schools, according to the state.
