VIP 2 Tamil Movie Story:

The ‘Velai Illa Pattadhari’ Raghuvaran (Dhanush) now a successful Engineer. He is married to his lover Shalini (Amala Paul) who is in charge of running the household taking care of her husband, his father (Samuthirakani) and younger brother Karthik (Hrishikesh) in the place of Raghuvaran’s late mother (Saranya Ponvannan).

Raghuvaran (Dhanush), who is working in Anitha Constructions, is being cornered by a real estate construction big shot Vasundhara Parameshwaran (Kajol) of Vasundhara Constructions. But why is he being cornered and why do Raghuvaran and Vasundhara have to lock horns? For those who ponder about the film’s title, and is he once again becoming a Velai Illa Pattadhari is a surprise to watch out for! The cat and mouse game between Raghuvaran and Vasundhara is what the film is all about.

First Day Screens: The Tamil version of the VIP 2 will be released across 1500 screens world wide.

First Day Collections: The early reports emerging from the trade indicate that it has earned over Rs 5.75 crore, thereby beating the record of the actor’s previous film Kodi that had collected over Rs 3.5 crore on the first day.

First Weekend Collections:

‘VIP 2’ has collected around Rs.12 crores in its first weekend. This includes Chennai’s share of Rs.1.53 crores, Chengalpet has contributed Rs.3.5 crores, Coimbatore theaters have collected Rs.1.8 crores and the theaters in Thirunelveli and Kanyakumari districts have garnered Rs.53 lakhs.

Dhanush had earlier revealed that he will be doing VIP 3 and Kajol will be part of the star cast.

VIP 2 is also special as it marks the Kollywood comeback of Kajol after a gap of 20 years. Her last Tamil film was 1997 Minsara Kanavu, in which she shared screen space with Arvind Swamy and Prabhu Deva.
